Our Year 7 girls made the 200-mile round trip to Telford to face Madeley Academy in the last 16 of the English Schools Cup last week.听
Wickersley started brightly and took the lead within the first five minutes, with Lori Inman finishing from close range. Dana Copeland听 then produced a magnificent double save to keep Wickersley ahead before Lily Jenkinson broke through on goal after some neat footwork, before putting the ball past the Madeley Academy keeper.听
A third goal followed shortly after, courtesy of a wonderful strike from Summer Quinn, before Lori added her second of the game, once again from close range. This meant Wickersley went into half-time with a commanding 4鈥�0 lead.
