Recently, two Wickersley students, Olivia and Isla, were selected to compete in the North East Regional Development Swimming Championships after a brilliant performance at the Yorkshire Championships.
At Yorkshires, Olivia won silver in the 100m backstroke and bronze in the 50m backstroke, later placing 8th in the 100m backstroke at Regionals.
Isla had an outstanding Yorkshire Championships, winning gold in the 100m fly, 50m fly and 400m individual medley, plus silver in the 400m free and 200m free, and bronze in the 200m individual medley. At Regionals, she placed 5th in both the 100m and 50m fly, and 6th in the 200m fly – also breaking the club鈥檚 U15 200m fly record.
